Would you agree? I can't put my finger on it exactly, but there's something very... resonating, emotional, somber. As far as The Shofar Blew--read it and loved it! Next on my list to get is Alone with an Eggplant, this collection of essays/stories about people eating or cooking alone. I’ve thought this last book of Lahiri’s is sad in a way that stays with me.
