Blogging Year in Review

A sentence from my blog for each month of this year.

January-So I’m talking with some different agencies about getting my resume out there in China.

February-It is just an overwhelming thought where I would be apart from the grace of God.

March-So I miss having Conley up here.

April-Hopefully Andy is going to come visit me in June so we can discuss where our relationship is going.

May-I’m back to hanging out with my good buddy Emily.

June-I have no idea what to do so I’m praying that God will not allow me to be accepted at any school he doesn’t want me to student teach at because I really need some clear direction.

July-It was nice to be able to be back at my parent’s house for a few days and to visit my church.

August-I don’t know why God wanted me here, but I know he did so I’m taking advantage of every opportunity I have while I am here [Lebanon].

September-I have had my share of frustrations, but I actually think I like teaching much more than I thought I would.

October-I started teaching 2 year olds at Kindercare this week.

November-So after teaching Lit for 9 weeks in highschool, I now get to teach preschoolers about the exciting topic of kitchen utensils.

December-No amount of hand washing can combat the 8 hours a day of getting coughed and sneezed on and cleaning up all of the children’s bodily functions.

So glad that it is Friday. My little cuties a.k.a. the germ factories have infected me once again. No amount of hand washing can combat the 8 hours a day of getting coughed and sneezed on and cleaning up all of their bodily functions. Thank goodness for gloves. Two year olds aren’t exactly models of good hygeine. I’m going to have to go out and get myself some more Airborne™. I have a pretty bad cold again. I lost my voice for 2 days. That made keeping the kids under control a little difficult. I have a co-teacher though so that was helpful. Yesterday I took “non-drowsy” cold medicine at supper. I was asleep by 7:30. None of that for me during the work day obviously. Next week I teach on the exciting theme of laundry. I’m supposed to make play washers and driers out of cardboard boxes. We shall see…Those who know me well will know how great I am at craft things. I officially have all of my Christmas shopping done. It is a good feeling. Pretty rare to be done this early. I got it done almost entirely online this year. Caleb and I paid for all the gifts cuz Bethany and Tim are kinda strapped with college bills and all.

I applied to teach highschool English at a school in Florida. I don’t necessarily want to move that far, but wherever I can get a job is fine with me. I’m ready to be on my own.

Anyway I took that “non drowsy” medicine again so I should stop rambling.

Broken Things

This past week has been another set of things coming in threes. Bad things seem to happen in groups of threes. First, my grandparent’s furnace broke. That has caused some financial and just logistical difficulties, but God has definitely provided and things are working out there. Then they called to say that their van broke down and they think that it is dead. So that is interesting as well. None of us in the fam exactly have extra money but especially not at Christmastime. I know that God will provide in that situation as well. We are praying and waiting to see what he will do. My brother just called to say that he fell and broke one of his thumbs and cannot afford to go to the emergency room. Hopefully the doctor at the clinic can help him out tomorrow. Life is interesting. You just never know.

Today the youth pastor at our church had his ordination service. It was good to see. I am good friends with his wife and greatly respect them both. I am excited that they are having their first baby too. It is so weird to see so many of my friends starting their own families.

Pray that God would give me leading in my job search for next fall. I have had several opportunities, but I am hoping for one closer to where I am now although I am willing to go anywhere. I may have 2 possibilities in the immediate area, but they are still up in the air. There is plenty of time, but I am trying to line things up the best I can as soon as I can. I do not want to work in preschool forever :)
