I’m on break right now so I thought I’d post a quick update. I started teaching 2 year olds at Kindercare this week. Today is only my second day and words do not exist to express the exhaustion that I feel.
My kids are cute, but it is frustrating trying to deal with some of them in the preschool setting. If they were my kids or if I were dealing with them in a religious setting it might be easier to deal with some behavioral issues. Oh well, I’m hoping that it will get easier. They were a little out of control today because we took them trick-or-treating over at the bank offices next door. We had to take the candy away from them and put it away when they were done. I don’t think I have to tell anyone how that went over. We can’t give it to them until their parents have gone through it so that’s the way it goes. Anyway some of the parents stayed extra for the Haloween party and to help change the kids out of their costumes. When the parents finally did leave, we had a lot of upset kids. Throw off their routine just a little and they can be a mess for the rest of the day. I’m glad to have a job, but lets just say I certainly haven’t found my calling here. Well my hour break is almost up and I have to get back to work before the kiddies wake up and drive my co-teacher crazy.

Update
I can not believe that it is week 6 of student teaching already. Time has absolutely flown by. I’m going to be glad to have it over, but I am going to miss some of my kids. I’m especially going to miss the family I am staying with. They are the best. My fam doesn’t live too far away from where I am doing my student teaching so I can always come back and visit. I have had my share of frustrations, but I actually think I like teaching much more than I thought I would. I would say that it has been an overall positive experience. More specific updates and pics to come soon.
