So I’m talking with some different agencies about getting my resume out there in China. I’m working specifically with 2. If I apply now, this time next year I could be teaching in China. How scary is that? I felt instantly older when discussing such options with these people. I’m really going to be an adult and really going to go do something with my life. Where has all the time gone?

So…I was graciously reminded by one of my friends that I did not post the poem that I had promised her I would post over break. It is still break. I planned on posting it the last day. 
We had to write a sonnet in Creative Writing. Here is mine.
Torn
He strikes her with his perfectly-aimed word
And watches her expression as it stings.
Although she acts as if she hasn’t heard,
He’s in no rush. The insults that he flings
Intend to slowly penetrate her mind–
Revealing insecurity and doubt.
Her hidden fears flow out as fierce tears blind.
She lies awake all night. She’s been found out.
He cuts her to a manageable size
And half believes this makes him in control.
Tomorrow morning he’ll apologize,
But what he broke, he can’t again make whole.
His pleading words cannot so smoothly close
The wounds he chose to hurtfully expose.

My mom finally got a job today. Yea! She will be an assistant teacher for 3 and 4 year olds at Kindercare. The pay is good, and the job is full time. It is close to home, and the lady who she will be working with lives on the same street as us. She is also a Christian, so that will be nice for my mom.

We studied Colossians 3 at Northland Camp this summer and also while we were in China. God did some amazing things in my life. I am enjoying studying the book of Colossians again in my devos. I am reminded of how far I’ve come by the grace of God and also how far I still have to go.
Colossians 3:1-3 If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth. For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.
